Hi,
Im seriously thinking of doing the CEH exams and was hope there is someone
here who can answer a question or two.
It's worth noting that CEH teaches damn near nothing about ethics, and
the name implies that those of us that don't possess it are by
definition, unethical. (see Jack's rant on that one).
For the most part, it teaches you to be a 'tools regurgitor' - showing
you how to do things, but not why they work the way they do.
In short, CEH is a great cert to look for on a resume when you''re
looking for people that can do particular repeatable work within Infosec
- as an indication of creative, critical analysis skills within the
field however, much less so.
(or basically, if you want a guy to run the companies internal vuln
scans, it's great - but I wouldn't hire an incident response guy on the
strength of a CEH).
