The decision to participate or not to participate should be based on the
current state of the organization, how as a member of the PAC am I suppose
to go out and campaign for the PAC in the election? while there are issues
of leadership that we are failing to address, mainly the constitution, I was
denied, together with the members of my branch to participate in the Alice
congress mainly because our so called tickets to the congress "membership
cards" were not issued although we submitted forms long before Alice and met
all requirements to attend, but unfortunately for us, we only received our
membership cards in November four months after the congress, Now my question
is why is that Africanist that were at that congress see it fit that we
should endorse the NEW constitution, which by the as a branch we had no
input on what must be in the constitution, this is the same document that
speaks of funny terms like PAC youth league, and woman's league, that we
know nothing about, where in the history of politics you find a leader of
the mother body changing a name of the youth wing of the organization
without even consulting with the youth, unless he is a dictator, only PAYCO
congress can change the name and amend its constitution thereof, this goes
for PAWO as well, in my view the people who betrayed the movement are those
who went and adopted a constitution that was impossed on them, military
style in Alice.

When PAYCO campaigned for Letlapa to be President in Qwa-qwa, it was with
the view that he will advocate for unity and party building, setting up
political schools, and the Sobukwe house and he said in his own words that
after his term he will step down that was his mandate, non of that has
materialized, unless I'm living in another country, BIG mistake and now yes
we must live with it, I dont think so. As young people subscribing to PAYCO
we are still waiting to see who is this youth league and their leaders, and
who are they leading. Letlapa has caused so much confusion amongst ordinary
members and will carry on confusing us for the next 10 years, as HIS
constitution states that he might stay for two 5 year terms as the president
of the PAC, Now the question I'm putting forward to this platform is why
should I vote for a leader who does not recognize me as a representative of
a legal YOUTH structure like PAYCO?

and for the record ordinary citizens dont know who Letlapa Mphahlele is and
what views he represents, come to KHUTSONG you will understand what I'm
talking about, going to elections will not solve our problems, lets rather
go to a special congress and right the wrong, we deserve to be given a
platform to raise these issues, prefably not in Eastern Cape, maybe at a
rather neutral province like North West.
