SACP support of North Korea is absurd. It is true that the Democratic Republic Of Korea has waged an unwavering fight against the Western imperialism. More specifically the USA. It is apparent now that the military might of the USA is under an unprecedented challenge after the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 90's.Armed with more than 1.1 million foot soldiers, sophisticated artillery, tanks, nuclear warheads, just to mention a few of its military hardware, the DPRK seems unperturbed by the USA, and it provides the desired balance of power in the international political system. But, personally, I am averse to the nuclear weapons which it is disposed to shell South Korea. If it does it, humankind will experience the most severe destruction in this century. Learning from the Japanese experience, Nuclear weapons should never be fired as they will kill people indiscriminately, they can even extend their impact on areas not intended. So now, the SACP has voiced its support to the DPRK. What support does it offer to North Korea ?
The sovereignty if the DPRK is not in dispute, but the usage of nuclear weapons is against humanity. The same SACP in government with the ANC, what does it say ? South African government should support countries to amass deadly nukes ? I am sceptical of the SACP.
