Hi Shawn,
Thank you for all this info. I'm going to try these things, and see how it
works for me.
As for my tape player's volume, yes it gets messed with a lot. I record a
lot of things, and so I'm always having to adjust it.
And yes, the tape player is connected to the line in of my sound card. I
try to leave my line in volume at 70, but I'm not sure if that's really the
best choice or not.
I think your probably right, that it would be good enough to just remove the
commercials. The reason I was thinking about inserting a bit of silence
though, was because of what I was trying to save to the computer.
See, a good while back I recorded the CMA awards, and I've been wanting to
get them onto my computer. However, I didn't want to just remove the
commercials, and not have a smooth break, between where the show ends, and
then begins again. I hope that makes some sense?
So that was why I was thinking about using that feature.
As for the noise reduction, I'm glad you explained how the clipboard option
worked. I had been trying to use that, but couldn't figure out what was
happening to my file. It turns out, I wasn't selecting the entire file,
once I copied a part of the sound to the clipboard.
Now, this feature will only work, if I can find a silent part in my
recording correct?
What if I cant, then what would I have to do, in order to get the hiss out?
This hiss is usually threw out the entire file. I'm not sure if it's there
in my recording from radio, or from my computer itself.
And also, thanks for explaining the other options from within the noise
reduction. I had tried to mess with them, but I was a bit nervous about
doing it, sense I had know idea what they meant.
Again, thanks for the help.
Terri
