Even without the software, Marty, I still record off XM what I want. I never used the XM software for that reason. It did not have a plug-in to record, not to my knowledge. What I found on the software was the abuility to change the channels using the computer and to read the song titles with Window-Eyes. As for other features, you could add stations to a Favorites list.
