Hi Julia,

Honestly, if you could get hold of someone with sight, you could probably
change the behaviour of the Microphone and Line-in ports by configuring
options in the Creative Surround Mixer. Unfortunately this application is
somewhat inaccessible to screen readers. I know that you can configure some
of the mixer options in the Windows volume control but not all of them. For
example, in the Creative Surround mixer, apparently you can determine what
volume each of your 5.1 / 7.1 speakers should be and configure the panning
etc. If there are alternative drivers, perhaps you might want to look at
the gateway or del sight as they sometimes provide alternative drivers for
the soundblaster cards.

Subject: RE: USB Creator Soundcard Question

David,

Yes, it sounds just like your other soundcard. This is exactly what my
soundcard does.

In speaking to Jonathan Mosen, he stated he had a soundcard just like yours,
and he had to change drivers or something in order to correct the one
checkbox problem. He doesn't remember how he achieved this, however.

Unfortunately, I need both the mic and line in ports to work independently
of each other.

Julia
