The reason you were told that by FS is because Windows Media Center is
basically Windows XP Pro with additional stuff added specifically designed
to handle multi-media.  The standard version of JFW does not work with
Windows XP Pro.  You have to pay for an upgrade to the professional version
of JFW if you want to be able to use Windows XP Pro.  This is not the case
with Window Eyes.

Hi Andy,

My wife and I passed up a deal on a Dell Inspiron 6000 becaused the Dell
company insisted we had to accept XP Media Center as our operating system. 
After checking with Freedom Scientific, we were informed that we should
stick with XP Home because Media Center is not fully compatible with the
standard version of Jaws.  We selected an HP notebook instead and we are
glad we did.
