the short answer from what i know it no not really the iriver h series
was and is still the best for sound and auido quality especcially for
recording

Do you still get mp3 players with proper line out sockets?
My old iriver 340's battery has gone dead so perhaps it's time to think
about replacing the player.
But I would prefer to get something with both a headphone and line out
socket.
