Hi Dane!

Thanx for this info.

Perhaps I should firstly look at replacing the iriver battery. At this
stage I have 40 gb of memory which is good enough for me.

I use a small headphone amp from headroom. And with that kind of equipment
a line out socket on the mp3 player would do the trick very nicely.

The problem I think with the docking equipment for something like the touch
is that it still uses the headphone output on the mp3 player.

Must say I have been wondering about the possibility of replacing my
iriver's battery. It's not the smallest of machines but definitely not
something I would throw away!

Andre

Well perhaps its time to think about getting a replacement battery for your
Iriver? They're available.

Either that or perhaps you could take a different approach that may have
advantages over what you're using now for example an Ipod Touch.

Firstly you get more memory, then you get more accessibility, a range of
docks and accessaries that give you the "stand line out" you're craving and
finally bluetooth connectivity which may come in handy given the fact that -
as I understand it - you have a hearing impairment so that way you can use a
wide variety of connectivity solutions to interface the Ipod Touch right to
your hearing aids thus not impacting on any audio quality.
