All you need to do is go into preferences with control p and then down to
general preferences and tab to check for updates at start up and uncheck it
and enter on ok and it will be done.

Hi, don't think I have posted here, but I was getting those annoying update
notices, so I downloaded the winamp lite,
did I do good?
and in the future, when this update note pops uup, how can I stop that from
occuring?
thanks

the only difference i can make out is that to edit the file and have the
changes show up in your bookmarks you have to edit the .bm8 file. just
editing the .bm file doesn't change the list in the bookmarks. open the
.bm8 file with note pad just like the .bm file.

In the latest version of Winamp where are the bookmark raw files stored.
In older versions I found them in a file called winamp.bm. They don't
seem to be there. I am attempting to transfer my considerable bookmarks to a new computer without having to visit every webpage and manually add
the bookmarks. I would like to avoid this tedious process if possible.
Any information would be appreciated.
