I should also remind those users of the PL-660, if you're using normal/alkaline
batteries - in other words batteries that can't be recharged - then you'll need
to do either of 3 things.

Refrain from using the radio with its power adapter, take the batteries out
when using the power adapter or switch the "Intelligent Charging" function off,
the "Intelligent Charging" function is toggled on and off by first making sure
the PL-660's power is off and then holding down the "Memory/Enter" button - the
key to the left of the 0 - for 3 seconds, you may need sighted assistance to
help you check the status of this.

Course the easiest way round the whole issue is to purchase a set of
rechargeable batteries and test to see if the "Intelligent Charging" function
is off, if the batteries charge then its on obviously <smile>.

Trying to charge non-rechargeable batteries will cause leakage and possible
damage to the radio so be careful.
