The mic jack is all you have on an Iphone.
If you record from your Iphone Plug your recorder in the output side of the cable.

If you wand to use the iphone as a recorder, depending on the level, you might have to atenuate.
There is no way to set level in the Iphone.

Also voiceover will be in the way.

You would have to go around about and use itunes on your computer to transfer to your Iphone.
