Another cold day in Newport on the second day of the College
Sailing/Laser Performance Men's Singlehanded National Championship.
Sailors braved brisk temps in the 40's and a westerly breeze that went
W/SW in the afternoon. Breezes were lighter than yesterday ranging
between 8 to 16 knots with some slightly higher puffs. 6 more races
were sailed on W4 courses, totaling 12 so far. One protest was filed
resulting in a DSQ and one redress was filed and not granted. Thanks
to judges Peter Johns, John Pratt, Kerry Sullivan, and Elizabeth
Barry. A huge thanks to Salve Regina University and all the Brown
Sailors for running the races on another really cold day on the
powerboat.
Greg Martinez from Georgetown continues to lead the fleet. First race
scheduled for 10:30am on Sunday.
