College Sailors, I am very pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity for college sailors. In partnership with Oakcliff Sailing and US Sailing, we will be hosting a clinic in high performance boats – 49er FXs and Nacra 17s – on the weekend following Coed Nationals. The College Sailing High Performance Clinic will take place at Oakcliff Sailing in Oyster Bay, NY on June 6, 7, and 8. The intent of the clinic is to expose college sailors to high performance dinghies with world class coaching at a reasonable cost.
The fee for the clinic will be approximately $200 (exact amount is still being worked out, but it will be in that ballpark). The fee will include sailboat and coach boat charter, coaching, housing, and dinners. What a deal! Sailors will be responsible for transportation to and from Oakcliff and other meals. Sailors should plan on arriving on the evening of June 5 and departing during the afternoon of June 8. Clinic participants will be chosen by a selection committee from a pool of applicants. Although we hope to be able to select everyone who is interested, it’s important that we have as much information about each applicant as possible. The comment boxes on the application allow for unlimited characters, so feel free to elaborate! The more you can describe why you belong at the clinic, the better. The application will close on Wednesday, May 13. At that point the selection committee will choose a list of sailors who will be invited to the clinic. We will then send additional information to those who are invited and start processing registrations. Coaches : please forward this email to your teams.
