Hello Linda

I use DiskWarrior-very simple and straight forward to use

1. Insert DiskWarrior CD into your CD ROM drive
2. Select Restart and hold down the "C" key
3. DiskWarrior automatically boots up into OS 9.1 (built-into CD)
4. Select the drive you want to rebuild  and then click on the Rebuild 
button
5. Follow the  screen prompts. Ask to see the error log. It will tell 
you what errors were found and corrected.  Ask to see the original file 
list  and the rebuilt file list and  compare to see what files, if any, 
are missing
6. Then decide if you want to keep the original or rebuilt files
