I did not mean to argue, I simply wanted to add a historical
perspective and bring in a different dimension. We love macs for what
they are anyway. I just despise Jobs more than Gates. The former is a
textbook case of how not to do things, the latter is the opposite.
I mean in regards to bottom line not the correctness of design and
implementation. If you want that, go with OpenBSD, Plan 9 and QNX.
there was a room for Be OS, but...
We are not touching the infinite wisdom of business model
on hardware front.
As for ethics, they are all predators, not all are
equally smart, strong and have right instincts. My heart goes for all
brilliant ingeneers of all camps who can't fully realise their
potential.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind to kill this thread, because you know how it
goes. It doesn't solve any technical problems anyway :)
