Hi,

I have an 8500 also

Using the sonnet G3-400/1MB works fine, not sure if $40 for another 50mhz is
worth it.
I removed the ram the unit came with (70ns) and install 448mb ram 2x32 2x64
2x128 all interleaved, works fine for me
Using an Xlr8 USB for my microsoft optical USB mouse, works out fine and was
cheap from OWC.

Also went to the trouble of getting an ACARD IDE to UWSCSI sled and a 68 to
50 pin converter so I can use IDE drives and capture video without
stuttering (works fine sofar).
I had tried the U66 ACARD IDE controller and it was fast but skipped on
video like crazy, same with acard UWSCSI card on PCI bus, Basically PCI for
audio storage sucks on my 8500.
