To Tim and E. G., and any other curious parties -
Got it working. Wasn't the VRAM (it's only using the 1 MB onboard VRAM,
no DIMMs installed), but it WAS a DIMM that the 7200 apparently doesn't
like - a 1 MB L2 cache DIMM that has worked perfectly in two other
Macs...go figure! Hope I can find a cache DIMM that WILL work with this
mobo - makes a significant difference on these 601 units.
Resetting the CUDA and zapping PRAM are SOP solutions tried before
hollering for help; couldn't zap the PRAM, because that's invoked during
the startup process, which wasn't happening....
