I have been running a 20 Gig Hard Drive (3 partitions) and a 2nd 6GB drive
(1 partition) with different system folders on each (so 4 total system
folders, 8.6 on 3, and 9.1 on the other) and have never had a problem with
it "jumping partitions?".
Where did you read/learn this, I had always heard "Only one system per
partition" (but with 9.1 the Startup Disk CP lets you select multiple
systems on each partition, so I'm not sure if even that's changing)
I find it MUCH easier to switch what partion/system folder I am booting from
than changing extensions sets in the "Extension Manager" If you install
something in one extension set those extensions are then in all your sets.
But if you install something when booted from another system it only places
things in that system folder. This lets me keep my serious stuff on one
partition, just games on another so I can keep it to a bare minimum for
speed, and everything else on another (internet, AOL, AIM, Napster:-(
,iTunes, Hotline, you know everything you need but half full of bugs)
