At Apple. When I was working there. It will work for a while but the system
resource forks will eventually collide and you will have a mess on your hands.
The safest way is to run only one OS per hard disk. OSX is a different beast
though. Due to the differences in system kernels you can run it with 9.1 on the
same partition. I can't tell you how many times I have had a person tell me "It's
fine to run 4 OS's on the same HD" and then in about 6 months they end up calling
me for a data recovery and clean reinstall.
