Hello Eugene
Yes. I plugged it in. But box would not reboot into OSX.
Same kernel panic.
Some more info. Contacted Sonnet tech support and was told
that they sent their installation software to ATI for test.
ATI reported back that they "found the bug". They told
Sonnet that "they would look into a patch", and either make
it available or send it to Apple for inclusion with some
future OS10 update(?),but no time table was given, like, do
not sit up at night , waiting for it to appear, like the
great pumpkin!.
It appears to me that right now there is really no need
for a powerful video card on OSX since there is no
compatible game type sofware out there to run. The 4MB of
VRAM built-into my 7600 works fine for me ;using a Belkin
VGA/MAC adapter/dipswitches connected my HP 17 ", set for
a resolution of 1024x768 /75KHz refresh rate
I will be patient and in time ,I am sure that "someone"
will make patches that will allow video cards work with
OS10.x in unsupported powermacs with on-board video
circuitry
