Dont compare 5 yr old scsi with brand new ata/100 drives.

Ever since we could start using DMA with IDE drives the cpu utilization
dropped like a rock. That is probably why apple went with IDE (that and the
fact they needed to start making cheaper Macs to stay profitable)

SCSI is still the fastest storage HD around (the 15k rpm ones) but the cost
for this speed title is alot of money, expensive cards, and alot of noise
and heat.

I slapped a 60gb 7200 rpm drive into my 8500 and its very fast. Runs circle
around the old 2gb scsi quantum I had in it.
