Sorry David Allen, but you seem to be mistaken.  Any powermac that can be upgraded 
with a zif carrier card and a G3 zif should be able to run os X.  10.1 is another 
story...We're still not sure if there will be pre-G3 compatibility.  

And you're not clearly explaining this zif matter...although I have confidence that 
anyone who's been on this list for any length of time will not let themselves be 
confused by the mistakes you made.  Any Apple Zif processor can be put into a pre-G3 
with the use if a zif carrier card (ONLY the ones that use removable daughter cards)

So to answer your question John, if you get a zif carrier card at and a zif processor 
( www.otherworldcomputing.com then accelorators, the the appropriate machine model) 
you should be able to use os X in the future.  Right now...well...that I'm not sure 
of. Anyone???
