You might want to try other drive mounting software. These will work 
without the Iomega extension.

Try either SCSIProbe, or Mt. Everything. These will display a list of 
SCSI devices, one of them should be your zip drive with disk inserted.

Another way to mount the disk, is to turn off your Mac, insert the 
zip disk, and startup; shove the disk back in if it is ejected. This 
should mount the disk like any other SCSI drive. No need for Iomega 
extension.

Try another disk if you have one.
