James,
One important factor to consider, and this is why I went for the XLR8 ZIF
Carrier myself, is that down the road you can just pop the ZIF processor off
of the carrier card and upgrade again much cheaper than if you had to replace
the whole daughter card. And since all of the newer G3 and G4 system come
with upgradable ZIF processors, those will be plentiful and inexpensive (on
eBay and such) as the owners of those systems upgrade to G4s or G5s or
whatever.

I have three 7500s in my house, and just got my in-laws one, so now as I do
upgrades, I can just migrate the ZIFs around to carrier cards in different
Macs. Just as they say, it an "upgradable upgrade".

Good luck,
Mike Ripca

I'm considering buying a XLR8 G3 zif carrier board and G3 zif for my
7600. OWC has a carrier and xrl8 300 chip for $115.00. I can buy a G3
400 for $195.00. Both have 1mb L2 cache. The 400 is a 8x processor.
Is the 400 worth the extra money?

Any advice would be most appreciated. >>
