When the company that makes your card adds compatibility or does bug fixes
to your card they will release new drivers or a program to flash to firmware
Read Only Memory (ROM). To flash the ROM you just download the .sit or .hqx
file from the companies web site, uncompress it, read and follow the Read Me
file. Usually there is an Updater program and a firmware ROM file, you just
run the Updater and it will update the firmware for you. I have a Sonnet
Tempo Ultra ATA 66 card (licensed from Acard), it came with firmware version
3.0.9 which I updated to 3.12.
