Are you saying your cd tray will not open ?
Do you have a OS cd and you can't boot with it by holding
C key at start ?
Do you have a floppy with disk img on it, to boot with ?
Do you have Norton or DiskWarrior to boot with ?

Personally i would not choose anything but Apple Drive Setup
to format my disks in a Mac computer.
