If you go with a RATOC FW card be sure that it is the variety that has the  TI or
Lucent Chipset...not the NEC chipset.  The NEC chipsets can cause you all kinds
of problems on a Mac.  I had one recently that would lock up a 9600 whenever it
was installed.  Pull the card and everything worked fine.  My recommendation on a
FW card is either going with XLR8's 3-port FW card that is on sale at OWC right
now for around $50, or better yet, skip all the other garbage and get the Orange
Micro FW/USB combo card and save yourself some trouble.  Orange Micro makes the
best combo card...IMHO.
