--------------------------------------------------------

I had exactly the same problem with my 8500/200
about a month ago and tried everything. Finally, I
just unplugged the power source and battery and
let it sit for a day. I replace the internal battery, but
I don't think that was the problem. When I tried to
start it up with the 7.5 cd, it tried to read the cd, but
froze. I zapped the pram a couple of times. Then,
it progressed a little more on the cd startup.
Sometimes I held down shift and the C key. Each
time I rebooted, it made a little more progess.
Finally, it made it throught the entire startup
process and works fine now.

I really do not know what was wrong. However,
the day before it froze, I opened an unusual
attachment???????????

good luck,
Alan
