Yes, it "bongs." Also, it is a PowerTower Pro 200 w/ 1MB cache. As
it turns out, Michael Macdonald on the powercomputing list clued me
into a common problem with PowerComputing machines and bad cache
(predominently on the PowerCenter Pro, but it seems to also occur on
other mobos too).
Aparently the cache is toast. I pulled it and the PTP boots just fine
(though, not quite as spritely as with the cache). The cache just up
and died... it had performed admirably for the last two years (and
probably longer - bought the whole machine used, w/ cache)
Out of curiousity, what was that simple fix for PowerTowers?
