It's actually a fix for all PCC units with PCI/video risers.  The video
riser tends to work itself loose in the slot if the machine gets
moved/handled very much.  It's not readily apparent to casual visual
inspection, so it's very easy to miss.  The machine will still give a
startup *bong* but won't light up the monitor - black screen, no video signal.
On tower units, you often have to remove the bottom plate in order to
get a good viewing angle.  If you can see any part of the contact keys
above the edge of the riser slot, remove the two screws attaching the
riser card to the crossbrace, firmly reseat the card and reattach it to
the crossbrace.  I've had to do this to four different PCC units - all
towers, so I don't know whether desktops are susceptible to the same problem.
