I haven't been following this thread closely, so if this has been
covered, my apologies. I've got a 2 port XLR8 card in my 7500. There was
a hub with an Epson 777 and a web cam plugged in as well as a Pacific
Digital CDRW. About 3 weeks ago, after switching start up disk and then
switching back to my main disk the machine started to hang on boot. It
would only boot with extensions off. Since I had been thinking about
redoing the drive I went ahead and initialized it and reloaded the
software.

The machine started up fine and everything looked ok. When I went to the
chooser to select the Epson it showed no USB connection. ASP recognized
the card, but none of the peripherals. After a lengthy process of
elimination ( about 8 hrs. and about 8 beers) I unplugged the CDRW and
everything else that was connected to the hub was functional again.

The hub and everything connected to it worked regardless of which port
it was plugged into. The CDRW also works fine connected to the hub. I
thought USB would free me from the curse of SCSI voodoo, but apparently
it has it's own issues.

Just throwing this out for your consideration, before you decide to
spend more money.
