Welcome to the world of computers that just work!   As for your 
specific questions, I would suggest you head over to the 6400 zone 
http://homepage.mac.com/zone6400/ which has lots of answers and 
reports specific to the 6400/6500 computers (they are based on the 
same motherboard).
