It seems to be somewhat flaky, sometimes it will go, sometimes it won't.
What I often have to do is boot off the CD, pull the newer finder out
somewhere (thereby unblessing the System Folder), and pull the System Folder
off somewhere else (or rename it). From there, you can install the older
version, and drag any third-party stuff you want into the new folder. If
there's nothing you want in the old folder, you can just go ahead and trash
it. You'll probably want to do the thing suggested later and uncheck the
update disk drivers, though my bet is that it would detect the later version
and not do it anyway.
