I know nothing about cell phones but I am considering buying one. I live in
an area with very poor phone service, noisy lines, no hope of DSL and no
alternative way available for connecting to the internet, at least in the
foreseeable future. I am told that certain cell phones have built-in modems
for internet connections. I have a G3/233 desktop system plus some other
old Macs ranging from 604e to 68040 era CPUs. Can anyone knowledgeable
about the subject of using a cell phone for internet connections advise me?
What are the pitfalls? I don't mind the cost. Just want decent connection
speeds and reliability. Much of the time in this area we can't even get a
dial tone! Thanks.
