my experience with cell phone access is only with a powerbook and pcmcia modem card plugged into a nokia 5110. However I can assure you that it is VERY slow, and I dont recommend it except to pick up email as I do when travelling.... then it is reasonably cost effective. But for general web browsing and downloading , definitely not.... much too slow and expensive. even an all singing and dancing nokia 9110 / 9210 is really only suitable for emails because of the speed factor.
