I thought that BeOS required PCI architecture, not 603 processors. 
All the docs I've seen have indicated PCI is a requirement. However, 
I've never paid attention to the list of compatible CPUs.

FWIW I've run BeOS 3 and 4 on an 8500 with a 604 and G3-400 
accelerator, and on a 20th Anniversary Mac with a 603ev and a G3-500 
accelerator.
