Unlike the HP printers, StyleWriters (Canons) have separate inkjet 
and reservoirs (the cartridge).  The inkjets are likely still 
clogged.  On a StyleWriter Pro I was able to unclog severely clogged 
inkjets by soaking them in denatured alcohol (90% Iso-propyl alcohol 
should do also).  I took the ink cartridges out and just soaked the 
receiver port in alcohol and ran cleaning passes on the printer.

This is one reason I like the HP printers.
