Bonjour, tim. sorry I don't have specific info on that question, but I'm eager to continue communication with someone who also has a 6500 and is trying to upgrade it. I added a sonnet crescendo L2/G3 and found out that my (creation studio software) Avid Cinema doesn't work with a G3. And altho setting up an older extension set on a La Cie 4Go hard drive, the card physically seems to mess up the functioning of the ATI rage (also "house" installed in the creation studio). So it looks like I have to pull the sonnet when I want to use the ATI card (which looks like a bummer to try to take out itself). I do remember reading that there are appropriate drivers available from apple for ide controller cards, but can't recall just where.
