I also recommend the zone6400 web site as a good source of information about you 6500.
We have a 6500 that we upgraded by adding a PCI card with Firewire and USB ports. It
took two tries. The first one I purchased from CenturyGlobal never worked. They were
good about working with me to try various thing and then taking it back as a return
and sent another to try which also didn't work and they graciously accepted back
giving me a refund. Then I ran across some info at the Sonnet site about a "problem"
in the firmware on the 6500 that requires a patch which they offer for download. We
then bought a Sonnet PCI card which ,with the firmware patch installed, has worked
great. I have wondered whether the CentruryGlobal card would have worked with that
firmware patch installed.
I am wondering about getting a Sonnet G3/L2 accelerator. How much difference does
yours make?
