Thanks for the reply. Often time, it seems, is the one thing I do not 
have an abundance of! I just didn't want to unknowingly set myself up 
for days of frustration trying to figure out what the heck I just did 
to mess up my  fairly smooth running machine, except for a few 
corrupt system files that don't matter much.

Due to the lack of response (except one from Tim)  I was beginning to 
feel like I asked a pretty dumb question!  Doesn't hurt to play it 
safe. Besides I didn't want to spend the money for someone to sell 
and ship me cd I couldn't use.  Not everyone is concerned with 
measuring their system bus speed or  knowing the precise affects of 
optimization on disk test times (yet)! Thanks for your help.

Jeremy, I am currently shopping for OS 8.6 Install CDs, what is the 
old "Borg" OS 8.6 CD? Anything to I should be avoiding for a 8500/120 
or 9500/132?
