You could check www.applefritter.com for inspiration.
Otherwise sand the case and faceplates with 400 and 600 grit and water to
get good
paint adhesion. Then chose the enamel or acrylic that you like and a
matching primer.
Apply the primer and let that dry for a day or more, Then give it some
light coats first
and then some heavier color coats. Let these dry thoroughly also. Repeated
clear coats
would be a good idea either gloss or matte to protect the color coats. Just
remember this
will always be subject to scratching. The better the quality of paint
applied and the number of coats
the longer the finish will be satisfactory. Good Luck.
As far as the choice of color that is of course a matter of
personal taste.
