Hi all,

Something strange happened, I answered to this post
and I had to reiterate the question, after 6 digests
it doesn't appear to be there yet, let's try again ...

First the answer: 4400 was the unlucky model number as
number 4 is a very unlucky number for the Chinese
(means "death"), and since a lot of Asian cultures
have strong historical ties with China, in particular
Japan in Apple's mind, they decided to drop it for
7220.

As a side note you would have probably noticed that no
company has marketed a 666MHz chip (all 667MHz), I am
wondering whether it has to do with the number
association with the Devil or evil in general. After
all 666 is an eyecatching number.

The computer that will never sell:

4400/666 with 4GB RAM 17GB HDD and a 13X DVD,
codenamed "Black Friday" ;-)

Second my question:

I have these two 64MB and one 32MB modules of 3.3V
168pin ECC unbuffered 60ns RAM DIMMs removed from a HP
NetServer LD Pro 180 (180MHz Pentium Pro).

I would like to know if they would work in a 7220/200
(which should use 3.3V 168pin EDO 60ns RAM DIMMs. Are
these two kinds of RAM one and the same or are they
two different and incompatible specifications?

I am sure there must be someone here on the list who
does know it. So if you read this please answer.

TIA
Cheers
Andrea
