On 7.6.1 in my Quads I had my Robotics 56k up to 52bps, having selecting the US Robotics High Speed modem script. But here on OS 8.6 in the 9500 it's only communicating at 31,200 bps - at least that's what it reads? Tried another script named Robotics 2X as well. Got that recurring feeling that I'm not doing something right :-) like it hasn't connected with the script. . . maybe if I set the script outside of its folder in extensions. . . or not? Aside: I was just sent 6 (count 'em) CD's with Netscape 4.5; IExplorer 5.0; and NN 4.08 for 68k (now. . .after all that 68k downloading!) Interestingly the ISP that sent me the CDs has a website which I need to frequently access but a critical page with fill-in fields only loads completely with the IE 4.5 that was installed with NCommunicator 4.5 via my recent Easy Install of OS 8.6. So here's what I'm fishing for feedback on if anyone knows: Would IE 5 be a significant improvement over IE 4.5 in my 9500? I'd use the handy "custom remove" on my 8.6 installer to pull IE 4.5 - after saving bookmarks and prefs. of course. Thanks, Terry -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
