Just a thought, did you depress the CUDA switch on the logic board 
for a few seconds after installing the card? This blanks the PRAM 
(more rigorously than a PRAM Zap) and allows the machine to detect 
and store any changes in hardware such as RAM or CPU card changes. 
Manuals for CPU upgrades for these machines always specify you do 
this so it should be a matter of routine when swapping CPU cards.
