Lots of info here to sort out. Are the Video CD's the same Video CD format that my LaserDisc Player plays?
I only need to get around 1 hour of video on the disc. Actually I was planning on my home movies as a first experiement, but a pastor has asked me about putting his 10 tape teaching series on DVD, which if I can get this going, might end up being a part time job for others. I believe each tape that he needs is 1 or at the most 2 hours long. How much video can be stored on a DVD vs a VCD? Yes, I have a Yamaha 8X4X24X SCSI burner. I have Toast (4.1.3)that came from Adaptec (Pre Roxio version). Do I need Jam or something additional? I am doing audio work for a radio station now, and the Mac rocks for doing that. I am using Sound Studio 2.01, great program for ease, not the fastest, and doesn't support non destructive editing, but recording is unparalleled and editing is unparalleled. Probably the best for editing non destructive is Bias-Inc.com's Peak program. It does look like at the minimum I need a case upgrade for my 8500. I would like to be able to have 2 or 3 5.25" drives and at least 3 HD's (multiple drives for scratch disc's, extra storage off of the boot drive, etc). Yes, I am starting to realize the 8500 may not be the best machine. I really like having the RCA inputs on this machine. My only other machines are a Powerbase 240 and a 9500. My XLR8 G4/450 upgrade card will work in the Powerbase, not sure on the 9500. But I don't think any of them buy me much. Would a Beige G3 with my G4 be a benefit? Or do I need more? Might have to look into selling them all for newer Mac... Money is a bit of an issue. So I don't have a lot to drop into it. Oh, I didn't buy the PM 8500 new, so I don't have the Videoshop CD. Would like to have it though. Thank you all for the help! Anything else would be greatly appreciated!! Thomas Martin -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
