I hear ya on that... the ATI cards aren't cheap. ATI Orion cards are still $100 even though they are based on the old Rage 128 chipset. Sadly, however, ATI remains the best option for PCI PowerMac-ers who want any hope of running OS X. Voodoo cards apparently work well, but only through OS 9. This is one of the downfalls of Mac lovers like you and me: we have to pay higher prices for older technology, and we have much less choice to boot. A small price to pay, though, for all the great benefits.
