FWIW, every hub I've ever owned has an uplink port. That's the port
that's wired x-ed over. Used for daisychaining hubs. (Can someone say
collision domain!) Fer instance... Both the 8 port hubs that I'm
currently using actually have 9 ports. 8 to hang devices off of and one
to hook to another hub. The old 4 port I had had 5 ports...
