Hello

This is a very common problem with powermacs, and has been posted here
numerous times, and I have been thru it!

The hard drive has not completed its spin up before the Finder opens

Some tricks:

try slowing the bootup process by selecting Memory (RAM) Check On in the
memory Contol Panel

add more RAM

Make sure on the hard drive that there is NO Auto Spin Disable jumper

faster hard drive (7200)RPM

if all that does not work, live with it!

albert

my opinion only
