I have a Nikon Coolpix 885 that works for this. I download the photos with the included USB cord directly from the camera to a 7600 with Sonnet Tango USB/FW card and OS 8.6. Nikon software takes care of the transfer seamlessly. "iView" was bundled with the camera, a nice cataloging program--this works with 8.6 if you download Carbon and add it to your system.
You can use Photoshop of course if you want to, or any other image editing program. I recently tried the shareware program "ImageBuddy" which allows you to group and print photos without any fussing. http://www.kepmad.com One thing I like about the way the camera connects is that it mounts automatically like a hard drive on the desktop. So if I'm in a hurry to grab a picture, I can bypass the "transfer" and cataloging process and just drag the file out of there. HTH, Anna Hello, Jim Lee Jr.!
